Father Maldonado now chaplain for Pasco medical center

Bishop Skylstad has appointed Father Fernando Maldonado (right), parochial vicar of St. Patrick Parish, Pasco, as a full-time chaplain for Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, Pasco.
The appointment was effective March 29.
Father Maldonado, a native of Mexico, was ordained a priest for the Spokane Diocese June 29, 1999.
Prior to his priestly formation for Spokane, he spent three years as a member of the Holy Family Religious order in Spain.
After studies at Bishop White Seminary, Spokane, and St. Paul Seminary, St. Paul, Minn., he served as parochial vicar of St. Patrick Parish, Walla Walla.
The next year he was named pastor of the parishes in Pomeroy, Dayton, and Waitsburg.
After an assignment as parochial vicar of Sacred Heart Parish, Othello, he became pastor of the parishes in Oroville and Tonasket. In 2007 he returned to Othello as pastor.
He has been parochial vicar of St. Patrick, Pasco, since September 2008.
