Corpus Christi observance

the Inland Register

(From the July 1, 2010 edition of the Inland Register)

Parishioners from St. Thomas More Parish, Spokane, participated in a Corpus Christi procession on Sunday, June 6, after the 11 a.m. Mass. Sue Millersmith, coordinator of the parish’s perpetual adoration ministry, organized the event in honor of the 20th anniversary of perpetual adoration at St. Thomas More. Deacon Jeff Lewis incensed the route in front of the Blessed Sacrament. First Communicants dressed in their white dresses sprinkled flower petals before the Blessed Sacrament, and other parishioners carried banners representing the parish’s various ministries. Altars were set up along the path of the procession, where the Blessed Sacrament was placed temporarily during pauses for prayer and singing. Also assisting were the Knights of Columbus and the Cub Scouts. (IR photo courtesy of Cindy Omlin)
