Colbert parish begins men’s spirituality program this fall
by Deacon Eric Meisfjord, Editor, Inland Register
(From the July 29, 2010 edition of the Inland Register)
The week of Sept. 13, St. Joseph Parish, Colbert, is beginning a 26-week program, “That Man is You” (TMIY), focusing on men’s spirituality.
TMIY, an interactive, multimedia program, is designed specifically to help Catholic men enhance their spirituality, with a combination of Church teaching, the wisdom of saints, and the best research from modern science.
According to Father Edgar Borchardt, St. Joseph’s pastor, the program has three aims: deepening the participants’ knowledge of their Faith, so that they can better incorporate that knowledge in everyday life; help men grow in their relationship with their families; and connect with one another.
Sessions will begin at 5:30 a.m., with breakfast, a half-hour video presentation, and a half-hour discussion session.
Facilitating will be Denny Bunkers, Joseph Ferraro, Jef Lant, Jason Malone, and Chad Pilgeram.
More information will be available from the parish next month.
According to TMIY’s web site, the program began in Houston, Texas, in the summer of 2004. Content was reviewed by theologians specializing in marriage and family life.
More background about the program is available on TMIY’s web site: http://www.paradisusdei.org/tmiy/
