Mark P. Shea, author and editor, to speak at two Spokane area parishes Sept. 18

Mark P. Shea, senior content editor for the web site Catholic Exchange and freelance columnist, will speak at two Spokane area parishes on Saturday, Sept. 18
In the morning, Shea will speak in Wilson Hall of St. Anthony Parish, 2320 N. Cedar in Spokane, at 10 a.m. His topic: “Where Are You with God?”
The talk will focus on the Sacrament of Reconciliation, which he describes as “one of the coolest gifts God ever gave us!”
At 2 p.m. on Sept. 18, he will speak at St. John Vianney Parish, 503 N. Walnut Rd. in Spokane Valley.
“This is My Body: An Evangelical Discovers the Real Presence” tells the story of his discovery of the Catholic Church’s teaching on the Eucharist.
Shea joined the Catholic Church in 1987 after being “raised more or less as an agnostic pagan,” followed by a period as a non-denominational Evangelical Christian.
He is Senior Content Editor at Catholic Exchange and an affiliate of the Catherine of Siena Institute.
He contributes a weekly feature to the web site Inside Catholic and “Connecting the Dots” to the National Catholic Register, as well as articles in other magazines.
He has been married since 1983. He and his wife have four sons.
