the Inland Register

(From the Sept. 30, 2010 edition of the Inland Register)

Nov. 12-14 will see IHRC’s first Suicide Survivors’ Retreat, titled “Beauty for Ashes: Transforming Loss.”

Leading the weekend will be Anne Cronin Tyler and Karen Covey Moore, experienced ministers to suicide survivors. They will walk participants through exploring the grief that comes from losing a loved one to suicide, discover the gifts that are contained in the ashes, and enter the transformation that is offered by God in order to move forward with courage, confidence and strengthened faith, integrating pain with joy.

On the weekend of Nov. 19-21, Father Stan Malnar MD (pictured, right) will return to IHRC to lead a retreat titled “Living with Grief.”

The cost of the retreat is $170 per person, $270 for couples, or $100 for commuters.

Father Malnar will discuss such topics such as wounded-ness, recovery from loss, forgiveness, healing, and celebration of life, offering spiritual and emotional help for all kinds of anguish and sorrow.

The cost of the retreat is $170 per person, $270 for couples, or $100 for commuters.
