IHRC sets evening and day of prayer

the Inland Register

(From the Feb. 3, 2011 edition of the Inland Register)

Immaculate Heart Retreat Center (IHRC), 6910 S. Ben Burr Rd. in Spokane, will host its next Catechetical Evening of Prayer on Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Father Michael Savelesky (left), pastor of Assumption Parish, Spokane, and long-time Inland Register columnist (and former IR editor) will speak on Baptism, the first of the Sacraments of Initiation. All are welcome.

This is the second in this year’s series of catechetical evenings, focused on the sacraments.

Cost is $35.

The evening begins with Mass at 5 p.m., followed by dinner, conferences, and reflection time, all concluding by 8:45 p.m.

Ash Wednesday, March 9, will find a Day of Prayer scheduled under the guidance of Msgr. Frank Bach (right).

Msgr. Bach’s topic is “Rend Your Hearts, Not Your Garments,” discussing a Scriptural understanding that external things do not matter to God as much as the interior of the heart.

Cost is $35.

The day begins with the rosary at 9 a.m., followed by two conferences, confessions, lunch, and Mass with distribution of ashes at 1:30 p.m.
