How long does is take you to read a good book? A group of All Saints School’s middle building students, teachers, parents and staff spent Friday, Feb. 25 each reading a 10-minute section of C.S. Lewis’s classic The Silver Chair as part of the school’s Read-Across-America celebration. The nearly six-hour reading marathon was broadcast on the school website live via ustream for parents, grandparents and classmates to follow along. Beginning at 9 a.m., the book and its author was introduced by eighth grade teacher and Vice Principal Nick Senger, who also provided the technical expertise for the live feed. He is shown here with the final reader Principal Kathy Hicks. Thirty other readers took their turns throughout the day and even missed lunch so they could do their part to make the marathon possible.
