On Ash Wednesday, March 9, Comcast Channel 14 began carrying a special six-part Lenten series of reflections by Bishop Cupich. The series is titled “Thirsting for More” and will continue on Wednesdays at noon through April 13.

The programs will repeat on Sundays on Channel 14, after the noon Mass produced by Immaculate Heart Retreat Center. IHRC is producing “Thirsting for More” as well. In addition, the audio track from “Thirsting for More” will air on Sacred Heart Radio, AM 970 in the Spokane area, Wednesdays at 6 p.m.

The half-hour programs will examine a variety of aspects of the Lenten season, including theology and history.

The bishop will discuss the Scripture readings for this year’s Lenten season, as well as the practices of Lent: prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. The sixth and final program will focus on Holy Week, from Passion Sunday to Easter Morning.

Programs also will include time to answer viewer questions about the Lenten season. Contact information will be given during the shows.
