the Inland Register
(From the June 9, 2011 edition of the Inland Register)
On Aug. 4-5, the Diocese of Boise, Idaho will host a gathering of clergy, Religious and laity to explore stewardship as a way of life for Catholics.
The 2011 International Catholic Stewardship Council (ICSC) Northwest Region Catholic Stewardship Conference, titled “Answering God’s Call,” will offer more than16 educational sessions and opportunities to network with others around ways parishes can facilitate lifelong stewardship formation for youth and adults.
The conference is in part an answer to the call from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops for parish and diocesan leaders to have regional opportunities to address stewardship education and other aspects of faith development.
Among those scheduled to speak are Bishop Robert F. Morneau, auxiliary bishop from the Diocese of Green Bay, Wis.; Father Daniel Mahan, executive director of the O’Meara Ferguson Center for Catholic Stewardship at Marian University in Indianapolis, Ind.; and Kerry Robinson, executive director of the National Leadership Round-table on Church Management, based in Washington, D.C.
Other speakers will come from dioceses and parishes throughout the northwest region of the U.S., including Sister Lorraine Reaume of the Archdiocese of Anchorage, who will share a local model for Hispanic ministry.
The conference schedule, complete list of speakers and topics, and online registration is available at www.catholicidaho.org.
The Boise conference is designed to serve dioceses and parishes in Region XII of the ICSC: Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Alaska. The Archdiocese of Anchorage and several of its parishes are ICSC members as well.
