(From the Aug. 18, 2011 edition of the Inland Register)

Father Joachim Hiên

Immaculate Heart Retreat Center (IHRC), 6910 S. Ben Burr Rd., will hold its next Catechetical Evening of Prayer on Tuesday, Aug. 30, with Father Joachim Hiên, pastor of St. Anthony Parish in Spokane, speaking on the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

All are welcome to attend any Evening of Prayer, which is presented on the last Tuesday of every month throughout 2011. No previous knowledge is necessary.

The cost is $35 per person. The evening begins with Mass at 5 p.m., followed by dinner, two conferences, time for reflection and questions, and concluding by 8:45 a.m.

The weekend of Sept. 16-18, IHRC will host a new weekend healing retreat for men titled “Be Healed in the Name of Jesus,” led by Father Daniel Wetzler, a retired priest of the Spokane Diocese and the spiritual director for the Charismatic Renewal.

Father Dan Wetzler

The retreat concentrates on the theology of healing. Father Wetzler will show the Scriptural basis and historical tradition of healing in the Church, identifying four levels of healing, which he describes as physical, spiritual, psychological (emotional) and deliverance.

Cost for the weekend (two nights plus five meals) is $185 per person or $100 for commuters (conferences and meals only).

To register for these or other programs at IHRC, call (509) 448-1224, or visit the web site:
