(From the January 19, 2012 edition of the Inland Register)

Oct. 21 2011, found the Knights of Columbus Council of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes in Spokane hosting their second annual spaghetti dinner to benefit Catholic Charities Spokane. On Thursday, Dec. 15, Knights Tim Coyle and Bruce Houck presented a check for $500 to Catholic Charities to help support the annual Christmas Collection, which sustains and operates the programs and services provided in Catholic Charities’ mission to serve the most vulnerable. In addition, on the evening of the spaghetti dinner the Cathedral Knights Council received the prestigious Double Star Council Award allocated annually to just 348 Knights of Columbus councils in the country. The Double Star Council Award means that the council has achieved 200 percent of its quota for membership after first completing all the requirements for Star Council. The Star Council Award recognizes outstanding achievement in membership, insurance and service program activities.
