L’Arche welcomes spring with KC gift

the Inland Register

(From the April 19, 2012 edition of the Inland Register)

Patrick Kerley, Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus St. Aloysius Council 15143 was welcomed by the L’Arche Spokane Community at their March Community Night. Kerley presented the community with a check for $744. He was joined by Jim Olson, a Brother Knight and also an avid supporter of the L’Arche Spokane Community. Council 15143, along with other area Knights Councils, initiated for the first time a Tootsie Roll fund raiser in Spokane last October. It has been a long-standing annual campaign to raise money for intellectually disabled individuals across the country. Knight Bill Kruas was thanked for heading up the fundraiser. The money raised was shared with L’Arche Spokane and the Special Olympics. L’Arche Spokane has two homes located in St. Aloysius Parish, supporting adults with Developmental Disabilities who share life in Christian Community. The funds will help send delegates to the International L’Arche Convention in in Atlanta this summer.
