Franciscan affiliates renew covenants

the Inland Register

(From the June 21, 2012 edition of the Inland Register)

Two covenant affiliates, Deacon George Lukach (left) of Deer Park, Wash., and Bill Woods (right) of Ford, Wash., celebrated their covenant affiliation renewals for five years with the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration (FSPA) on Friday, May 18 at San Damiano Convent in Spokane. Both men are members of Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Nine Mile Falls, where Woods volunteers as a groundskeeper and parish visitor and Deacon Lukach exercises his ministry. Affiliation with FSPA offers an opportunity for men and women to live Franciscan values with FSPA members and affiliates, providing individuals the support of a larger community with others who are also seeking a closer relationship with God. Covenant affiliates seek to integrate prayer, community and ministry within a Franciscan lifestyle. Sister Pat Gordon (center), local FSPA Affiliation Coordinator, officiated at the ceremony. Several FSPA Sisters and local affiliates participated in the ceremony and the joyous reception that followed. For information: (509) 448-0299 (IR photo courtesy of Sister Betty Bradley FSPA)
