(From the March 21, 2013 edition of the Inland Register)

Did you know that in the West Central neighborhood in Spokane, where Trinity School stands as a beacon of hope:

• 15 percent of families earn less than $10,000 per year.
• 20.3 percent of families live below the Federal poverty level.
• 5.2 percent of people have less than a 9th grade education.
• 17.1 percent of people have not completed high school.
• Unmarried mothers are at 62.6 percent, with the average in Spokane being 32.6 percent.

Trinity School is the hope. Trinity can do what public schools in the surrounding neighborhood cannot do. We teach Gospel values within a solid academic setting. We offer the richness of Catholic tradition. We are in a unique position to make a difference in the heart of the West Central area and we do this every day when we open our doors to learning.

• 84.7 percent of Catholic school graduates attend four year colleges compared to the national public average of 44 percent.
• Trinity students consistently win local essay and poster contests for organizations such as Veterans of Foreign Wars, Bloomsday (Fit For Bloomsday), and the Realtor’s Association. (Editor’s note: For this year’s “Fit for Bloomsday” poster winner from Trinity School, see page 28 of this issue.)
