Gonzaga Prep hires new head varsity volleyball coach

Gonzaga Preparatory School has announced the hiring of a new Head Varsity Volleyball Coach, Jill Benson, effective July 1. A Division 1 Volleyball athlete in volleyball and softball, she comes to Prep from Niceville, Florida where she was the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Niceville High.

“At Gonzaga Prep student athletes are expected to compete at a high level in the classroom as well as on the field or court,” said Vice-Principal of Athletics, Paul Manfred. “We are excited to have Coach Benson help build the Volleyball Program and bring the team back to the State Championship tournament.”

A graduate of California State University Sacramento, Benson has been the Varsity Volleyball Coach at Niceville High since 2010 as well as the Head Coach and Assistant Director for Prostyle Volleyball Club in Destin, Fla.

Groundbreaking in Clarkston

Ground was broken for a new parish hall for Holy Family Parish, Clarkston, at noon on Sunday, March 17. NFP course begins May 19 at Cathedral

A course in the Sympto-Thermal method (STM) of Natural Family Planning (NFP) will begin at the Sunday, May 19, at O’Connor Hall at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, 1115 W. Riverside Ave. in Spokane. The class begins at 1 p.m.

Cost of the course is $140, which includes full instruction in the method and materials; The Art of Natural Family Planning Student Guide; digital basal thermometer; NFP chart booklet; six issues of Family Foundations magazine; Fertility, Cycles & Nutrition by Marilyn Shannon; personal chart review; and accessibility to a Couple to Couple League (CCL) teaching couple.
