A friendly competition – but CAPA is the winner

the Inland Register

(From the May 16, 2013 edition of the Inland Register)

St. Charles School’s 8th grade class (above) excelled in a recent Leadership Drive by collection and donating 10,258 diapers to Catholic Charities’ Childbirth and Parenting Assistance (CAPA) Program. The students have been visiting K-8 classes following the gestational milestones of pregnancy, beginning with the first month in September and concluding with the ninth and final month in May. They have paralleled the experiences of the unborn with Jesus’ journey in the womb of Mary. Their commitment to life has been remarkably fruitful. The entire student body was involved in a lively competition to see which classroom could bring in the most diapers, and the fifth graders (below) were the winners. They will receive an ice cream sundae party for their efforts. The program was sponsored by the parish’s St. Gianna Pro-Life Group. (IR photo courtesy of St. Charles School, Spokane)
