Mass of Remembrance for deceased children

The Mass of Remembrance for children who have died will be on Monday, Sept. 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, 1115 W. Riverside Ave., Spokane. Gathering as a community to remember and honor our children who have died can help to bring acceptance of our loss and healing of our grief. All are welcome to attend.

Many thanks for Corpus Christi Mass

Many thanks to Father Jeffrey Lewis and organizer Don Mally for the Corpus Christi Mass at Jump Off Joe’s St. Joseph Catholic Church. The procession was very impressive and stimulating. It sure brought back old memories for me of when I was growing up in Valley, Wash.

My children and grandchildren, who attended, were very much touched by the ceremony. As I understand, it will become an annual event. If so, I highly recommend attending next year.

Corpus Christi Mass and procession at Jump Off was carried over from settlers emigrating from Austria (now Slovenia) in the mid- to late-1800s.

    Bill Stroyan, Spokane
