Eagle Scout project benefits Wilbur parish

the Inland Register

(From the February 20, 2014 edition of the Inland Register)

For his Eagle Scout project, 15-year-old Jeff Luiten of Troop 779, Wilbur, Wash., chose to contribute some beautification to Sacred Heart Church. With the help of other troop members, Luiten built a retaining wall, added decorative rock, and completed the project with three steel crosses, measuring seven, eight, and 10 feet tall, representing the three crosses of Calvary. During a recent visit to the parish, Bishop Cupich invited the congregation to join him outside as he blessed the crosses. Jeff Luiten is the son of Todd and Rhonda Luiten of Wilbur.
