On Saturday, March 1, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s St. Patrick Conference in Pasco had a public celebration and blessing ceremony at its new facility. Bishop Blase Cupich blessed the building and shared comments.
Joining Bishop Cupich for the blessing were Fathers Steve Werner and Luta Nsubuga, pastor and parochial vicar, respectively, of St. Patrick Parish.
This new facility replaces the old site, which was purchased by the City of Pasco for the Lewis Street overpass.
Land for the new St. Vincent de Paul facility was purchased and ground-breaking commenced in April 2013.
The new 16,000-square-foot building includes warehouse and food distribution areas, plus clothing distribution and sorting rooms, space to interview clients for various community services such as emergency utility and housing assistance and IDs, and a wellness office.
Ted Scott, board president of the St. Patrick Conference, said, “We are very proud of our new facility and also very humbled. All of these people came together and now we have this wonderful new facility.”
