the Inland Register

(From the April 17, 2014 edition of the Inland Register)

Catholic Funeral and Cemetery Services (CFCS) has announced celebration of Mass on Memorial Day at the three Spokane area Catholic cemeteries.

Weather permitting, Bishop Blase Cupich will celebrate an outdoor Memorial Day Mass at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 26, at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N. Wall in Spokane. Those attending should bring their own chairs. If the weather is inclement, the Mass will be celebrated in the cemetery chapel.

Also scheduled for Memorial Day will be a 10 a.m. outdoor Mass celebrated at St. Joseph Cemetery, 17825 E. Trent Ave. If the weather fails to cooperate, Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 4521 N. Arden Rd. in Otis Orchards.

For Queen of Peace Cemetery, the Memorial Day Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. in the chapel of adjacent Immaculate Heart Retreat Center, 6910 S. Ben Burr Rd. in Spokane.

Memorial Day Planter order forms will be available from CFCS in mid-April.

The semi-annual cleaning of the mausoleums at Holy Cross and St. Joseph cemeteries will begin May 1. All personal décor should be removed for the month.
