Catholic Renewal Ministries (CRM) presents its 2014 Catholic Charismatic Renewal conference, “Follow Me,” Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7, at Gonzaga Prep’s student chapel, 1224 E. Euclid Ave. in Spokane.

The 2014 conference’s theme comes from the second verse of chapter 19 of the Gospel of Matthew: “Large crowds followed him, and he healed them there.”

Leading this year’s conference is Father Michael Barry, a priest of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary and president of Mary’s Mercy Center in San Bernardino, Calif.

Father Barry has been involved in healing ministry for over 30 years. He is a popular international speaker and is the founder of Mary’s Table, a ministry which feeds the poor and homeless, as well as offering a home for single and unwed mothers, Veronica’s Home of Mercy.

He has been active in retreat work, a radio ministry, and has produced an extensive list of books and publications.

Registration is advised, but the conference itself is free of charge. Free will donations will be collected to help defray expenses.

Father Barry’s ministry also includes facilitating inner healing. Participants will be asked to consider questions:

• What is it that Jesus is asking of me?
• How can healing and letting go of distractions help me hear God’s word more clearly?

Father Barry has written, “Healing is a process. It has to do with our relationship with the Lord, in our heart, in our mind, in our body, and in the body of Christ.”
