Catholic Charities hosts sixth annual Gala
the Inland Register
(From the June 19, 2014 edition of the Inland Register)
With a theme of “Bringing Color to Lives,” the Catholic Charities Gala event on Friday, May 9, celebrated the works of Catholic Charities in helping to transform the lives of those who are struggling. The evening also served to highlight the individuals who generously support our mission.
Dave and Chris Lynch served as Honorary Co-Chairs and shared their passion for the services Catholic Charities provides.
Entertainment was provided by singer Cami Bradley of Spokane, who performed “Over the Rainbow,” paired with a heartwarming slide show of Catholic Charities clients. A former client, Danielle Ramsey, shared her story of transformation from a life of drugs and crime to one of sobriety and stability. She credited Catholic Charities’ St. Margaret’s Shelter with helping her become the successful and joyously happy wife and mother she is today.
Bishop Blase Cupich awarded the Bishop’s Medal to Dave and Bobbi McGann of Spokane in honor of their generous and long-time support and dedication to Catholic Charities, the Diocese of Spokane, and the Spokane community. Isaac Henson and Kathleen Schmidt, co-coordinators at Partners for Community Living, were honored with the Donna Hanson award for their unwavering support, work and compassion for the women who live at Bernadette Place. The Collins-Whitehead family received the 2014 Volunteer of the Year award for their 11 years of service hosting monthly birthday parties for the families at St. Margaret’s Shelter.
