On Monday-Thursday, Feb. 23-26, Spokane’s Our Lady of Fatima will host a parish mission under the leadership of Doug Tooke, Director of Catholic Formation Services for the Diocese of Helena, Mont.

The mission takes its theme from year one of “Our Joy Made Complete: Teaching of the Apostles, Faith Formation and Leadership Development.”

Tooke is an interactive speaker who uses stories, humor, and small group discussions to open the call of God in each everyone’s life. He has over 15 years of parish, multi-parish and diocese experience in the areas of youth ministry, family dynamics, and leadership development. He has earned undergraduate degrees from Carroll College in theology and philosophy, as well as a master’s degree in pastoral ministry from the University of Dallas.

Tooke was a keynote speaker for the recent Archdiocese of New York Priest’s Conference, and will return to the archdiocese in April for the New York Catholic Youth Day Celebration.

He has been active in leadership at all levels of ministry, parish, and diocese, and nationally at the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry. He is widely considered a foremost expert on multi-parish ministry, especially rural settings.

Doug and his wife, Becky, are proud parents of five daughters. In his spare time he can be found organizing broom hockey games in his backyard ice rink.

The public is invited to any or all of the mission presentations. All sessions will take place at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 3327 S. Perry (corner of 34th and Perry), Spokane.
