Following in the footsteps of St. Patrick, the Catholic Charities Foundation is offering a special guided tour through Ireland in the spring of 2016.
Accompanied by knowledgeable priests and staff, the 10-day excursion will traverse Ireland and will highlight the many churches, monasteries, abbeys, and castles that comprise the rich history of the Emerald Isle and the Catholic Church.
Departing April 10, 2016, the tour commences in Dublin and weaves through the cities and villages of Armagh, Belleek, Galway, and Castelbar, returning to Spokane April 20.
“Ireland represents a significant time, place, and series of events that have shaped the Church, our world, and history as we know it,” says Msgr. Frank Bach, one of the priests scheduled to lead the trip. “I am especially excited to be part of this tour and to revisit some of the villages, churches and holy places that I have visited previously.”
Travelers will visit Downpatrick and its famous Cathedral, the burial place of St. Patrick; tour Kylemore Abbey, a stunning Benedictine monastery; and attend a concert featuring the acoustical harmonies of St. Peter Cathedral’s Schola Cantorum in Belfast. Daily and weekend Masses will be offered throughout the journey.
The trip, organized by Collette Travel, includes round-trip airfare, 4-star hotel accommodations, most meals, and all fees and transfers. Single and first-class upgrade travel options are available. Those interested in learning more about this tour are invited to attend a travel session to be held at the Catholic Charities Family Services Center located at 12 E. 5th Ave., Spokane, on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 1 p.m.
