Court 196’s Catholic Daughter of the year for the 2015/2016 term is Ginny Terpening.
Ginny joined Court 196 in 2001, and has been an active member ever since. She served as a court officer for 12 years, and held the positions of secretary, vice regent, and regent. She recently served a fill-in position as state second vice regent for several months.
Besides being a court officer, Ginny seems to be a “gofer” for anything else that is needed: making tags, tickets, and brochures; acting as computer “guru”; publishing the C.D.A. newsletter; and more. She has also been instrumental in organizing court activities such as the St. Patrick’s Day parade, an Apron Fashion Show, and the “Ugliest Hat Contest.”
Terpening is a Eucharistic Minister at Assumption Parish, Spokane, and is involved on several parish committees.
She was active in the PTA for 14 years, was employed as a Head Start secretary for 11 years, and is currently volunteering at CARITAS.
And if all of that weren’t enough, she recently added “Babysitter for twin grandchildren” to her resume.
