The Knights of Columbus from St. Mary Presentation Parish, Deer Park, Wash., had a successful “Campaign for People with Intellectual Disabilities” during last October.
The fundraising campaign was known in years past as the “Tootsie Roll Campaign.” The majority of the monies collected goes to support the Special Olympics Program; the remainder is given back to the Council to be distributed at the local level.
For the fourth year in a row, the Knights presented a check for $500 to Catholic Charities Spokane for the support of St. Bernadette’s Place, a support system for women with intellectual disabilities. There was also a check for $532 given to The ARC in Spokane, which supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities on a local and regional level.
Thanks to all of the donors and Knights who contributed to “The Campaign for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.”
