Catholic Charities announces speaker for Sept. 20 Caring for Kids Luncheon

the Inland Register

(From the May 19, 2016 edition of the Inland Register)

On Tuesday, Sept. 20, Caring for Kids Luncheon benefiting St. Anne’s Children and Family Center and the Morning Star Foundation will welcome as keynote speaker Mary Loverde, a nationally-known work-life balance expert and change catalyst.

Loverde has appeared on 20/20, ABC World News Tonight, and four times on Oprah. She has published four books and has also been published in the three “most important” journals: The Wall Street Journal, The New England Journal of Medicine, and Ladies Home Journal.

The theme for her talk will be “Don’t Miss Anything: Innovative Strategies for Staying Connected to What’s Really Important.”

Loverde was instrumental 20 years ago in starting a new charity, “Camp to Belong,” designed to reunite siblings separated by foster care. She remains passionate about finding ways to support organizations that serve families and children enduring any type of emotional struggle. She enthusiastically accepted the invitation to speak at Caring for Kids when she learned of the history and the work of both St. Anne’s and Morning Star. More information about Mary can be found on her web site: www.maryloverde.com.

The luncheon celebrates its 20th anniversary this September. Catholic Charities and Morning Star look forward to filling the room at the DoubleTree Hotel, 322 N. Spokane Falls Ct., Spokane.

Check-in and social begin at 11:30 a.m.; the lunch and program begin promptly at noon. Tickets are $100 per person ($50 for “young friends” age 30 and under) and are on sale online now at www.CatholicCharitiesSpokane.org/caringforkids.

Both St. Anne’s and Morning Star Boys’ Ranch have evolved and changed in the 20 years since the event began, but both entities remain committed to helping children and their families with quality programs and compassionate care. Don’t miss this anniversary celebration of Caring for Kids and the many ways these organizations benefit and strengthen our community.
